To get things done, you need meetings where people can think together
We are all experts of our own experience, be it at work or in our personal lives. The information needed for problem-solving or working together better is already in our own hands. What many of us lack are effective communication skills and a sound understanding of the rules of communication.
As a professional facilitator, I create meetings where the focus lies on the content and on getting a view of a situation in its entirety. These create spaces for people to talk beyond habitual hierarchies and routines. This lays the ground for better decision-making and introducing sustainable improvements.
Based in Brussels and Vienna, my role is to bring people with diverse backgrounds to work and think together.
Since 2020 I have been an active collaborator in several international networks of online dialogue practitioners.
Since 2019 I have been chairing the Governing Board of an international non-profit organisation, advising it on fundraising strategies and agenda setting.
I have a good understanding of the workings of the European Institutions. After studying at the College of Europe in Bruges, I worked for many years in professional service roles, doing client related research for lawyers or supporting a Europe wide network of speakers on EU topics. Afterwards I worked as Policy Adviser to two industry associations.
A Master’s Degree in Migration Studies led to a career change in 2012. I then worked for the Jesuit Refugee Service Belgium, accompanying migrants in detention centres and advocating for their rights. I also coordinated and implemented the Belgian side of an EU-funded project on community building with refugees.
I am fluent in English, German (Mother tongue) and French. After seven years of work in a bilingual Belgian office I have a very good working knowledge of Dutch.
